An honest review of the potential of artificial intelligence in creating video content.

Odds are you’ve heard about the concept of faceless Youtube channels, which have become more popular with the advancements in AI. Odds are you’ve also heard about Invideo’s AI video generation tool, which promises to create ready-to-upload Youtube videos for you, taking care of everything from the scrip to the voice-over to the video itself.

Excited as ever, I bought the premium plan and jumped right into it, as I’ve already experimented with individual tools, but never with a software which can theoretically create a video from scratch.

I gave it a detailed prompt, waited for it to work on it, and was honestly surprised by the end result. It wasn’t perfect, but it sure was impressive.

However, Youtube is not particularly fond of AI generated content, and as a content consumer, you rarely have time to waste on low-effort, soulless videos.

As such, I began working on the video intensely, using all of the tools included in Invideo AI’s arsenal. After exporting the video, I popped it into Capcut to manually re-edit it, in order to make sure that the final cut is much higher quality than most other AI-generated videos.

The result: a canceled subscription.

Jack of All Trades, Master of None

In case you are wondering what went wrong with the AI, well everything. It’s not that it cannot create a somewhat decent video, but the fact that the videos are limited to being somewhat decent, and not something I would spend my time watching.

Invideo AI really does take care of everything, including the script, voice-over, and video, although all of these are done disappointingly.

Script

Getting artificial intelligence to create a proper piece of written media is hard, and requires a lot more effort from the user’s side than most might imagine.
